Good morning everyone. We hope you’ve all been having a great #Fedivision2024. A few more things will happen as the contest winds down. Entrants outside the top ten who asked to be told how they did will receive a DM from this account or from @futzle in the next 24 hours.
The player on fedivision.party and the pop-up channel at @radiofreefedi will remain up until this weekend. If there’s music you like, you are encouraged to connect with the artist now and find where they sell or give away their music. #Fedivision is ephemeral and we think its value is as a showcase for artists and as a networking event.
To that end, we will stick up an expanded Hall of Fame page on fedivision.party, listing all entrants with contact details and links to their music. If you are on this list and you want your details changed or deleted, just ask us. This offer is perpetual. If we find the data files and the spoons, we will do the same for the 2023 and 2022 contests.

We’re into our last day of #Fedivision2024. A reminder to follow @vote to tune into the playback simulcast starting in 14½ hours. The vote account is run by our esteemed co-organizer @zatnosk, who has arcane knowledge of the Mastodon API. #Fedivision2024 final weekend! Here’s the schedule (all times are UTC; use your favourite converter for your time zone):
• Playback party, 13.00 Sunday 26 May 2024. Our vote bot will walk through each song, listing the artist, voting code, and a little bit about the song. Follow @vote to listen in. This is your last chance to (change your) vote!
• Votes close 19.00 Sunday 26 May 2024. The vote bot will stop listening for votes sent to it. Counting and cross-checking will begin.
• Winning announcement, 13.00 Monday 27 May 2024. Top ten will be counted down by @vote; follow to be informed!
• Playback page and @radiofreefedi popup station will remain open over the following week, shutting down on the weekend of 1–2 June 2024.
@voxpopsicle It’d be noisy because any time anyone mentions the vote bot, including when describing how to vote to a follower, they’ve just cast a malformed vote. So the bot ignores nothing that doesn’t look like a vote.

The vote bot replies to your vote to confirm that it’s been counted. If you received that reply you’re all good.
If you didn’t then it could be that your message didn’t reach the bot, or the bot’s reply didn’t reach you, or you have DMs muted so you didn’t see the reply.
I can see in the logs that about 130 replies have been sent out by the vote bot, so there have been at most that many (×3) votes cast so far.
